What is JEE Mains?

What is JEE Mains?

The first stage of the IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE) is known as JEE Main. For applicants to top Indian engineering schools like the IITs and NITs, including their undergraduate engineering programs, the National Testing Agency conducts this computer-based online test. The JEE Advanced will be open to the top 2,50,000 JEE Main applicants.

The pattern of JEE Main

  1. There are 90 questions total, with 30 questions in each part.
  2. There are 75 Questions total, 25 of which are in each part.
  3. For every section, there are 10 questions with numeric values and ten multiple-choice questions.
  4. Candidates may choose to respond to 5 out of the 10 questions in Section B that have numerical value answers.
  5. Computer-based test mode will be the exam mode.
  6. Exam time is 3 hours, and 4 hours for applicants with a 40% impairment.
  7. In every exam center, there will be both Hindi and English question papers. The exam’s medium of instruction will also be given in Gujarati for centres in Gujarat, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
  8. Each question in the sections on physics, chemistry, and math is given the same weight. Each right answer gets 4 points.
  9. MCQs have a one-mark deduction for each wrong response. If you correctly answer a question for which the answer has a numerical value, you will receive 4 marks; if you incorrectly answer or don’t attempt the question, you will receive a negative marking of -1.
