Assam Police Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Civil Education (For all posts): HSLC or a comparable qualification.
Service Qualification:
- Constable & Head Constable: Those who retired from the Army in the rank of Sepoy to Havildar, or in a position of equal rank in the Navy or Air Force.
- Sub-Inspector & Inspector: Those who retired from the Army at the rank of Naib Subedar or above, or at a rank that is comparable in the Navy or Air Force.
Note: The option to apply for the position of Sub-Inspector rather than Const/HC is available to ex-Service members who retired as Havildars or comparable ranks but completed service of 15 years or more. However, they cannot apply for both positions.
Assam Police Recruitment 2023: Age Limit
As of January 1st, 2023, the candidate’s age should not exceed 50. The candidate’s birthdate must be on or after January 1, 1973.
Assam Police Recruitment 2023: Selection Procedure
The selection will be based on the outcomes of the oral interview and/or test. Special skills, training, background in the Military Police or Special Forces, and applicants under the age of 45 will be given preference.
Assam Police Recruitment 2023: Physical/Medical Standard
A candidate needs to be in good health and free of any severe chronic illnesses or physical abnormalities. Both adequate hearing and normal vision, with or without spectacles, should be present. In the Discharge book, he must fall under the SHAPE-1 category for the Army or a comparable category for the Navy or Air Force. Before being appointed, the chosen applicant will need to provide a medical fitness certificate to the hiring authority; anyone found to be medically unfit would be removed.
